In
the following I will write about the significant similarities between Yosef and the coming Meshiach Yahshua. It is amazing just how much the events in the lives match up. One
of the greatest truths is represented in this comparison that should shed light on one of the biggest errors of Mystery Babylon
that there is. I will move through each comparison one by one sharing scriptures
that deal with both individuals. Verses related to Yosef are in black and verses related to Yahshua are blue.
Genesis
37:2 ...Yosef being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock.
Hebrews 13:20 .... Master Yahshua, that great shepherd
of the sheep....
Genesis
37:2 ...and Yosef brought the evil report of them.
John 15:22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they had not
had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
Genesis
37:3 Now Yisrael loved Yosef more than all his children
Philippians 2:9 Wherefore YHWH also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name. see also Acts 2:33
Genesis
37:3 ...and made him acoat of many colors.
Note: Yahshua was given the unique role of Meshiach
Genesis
37:4 And his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren and they hated him, and could not speak peaceably
to him.
Mark 15:10 For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.
Genesis
37:5-10 (v.8) And his brethren said to him, Will you indeed reign over us? Or
will you indeed have dominion over us?
Matthew 21:42 Yahshua said to them, Did you never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders
rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
Extra
Note: Notice that though Yosef dreamed of reigning over his brethren that this is not what took place immediately. For Yosef a seemingly negative state of events would take
place in his life. Surely during this time it would seem to his brethren that
his dream was folly. However, it was these very events that were necessary in
bringing to pass his reign which would in the end be a blessing to those who betrayed him.
In
Meshiachs position we see the same. It was already known that Meshiach was to
reign over all Yisrael and G-ds people. When he came and claimed such the unbelieving
Jews fumed. His death would be what needed to take place first. By this event
Jews then and even Jews today reject him as having been the promised Meshiach to come.
However, as with Yosef so was Meshiachs seemingly unfortunate events needed to bring about the promise. This brought about what will be Yahshuas future reign over G-ds people on the earth something that will
be a blessing to those who betrayed him (all mankind).
Genesis
37:18-19 ...they conspired against him to slay him. And they said to one another, Behold this dreamer comes.
Matthew 21:38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come,
let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
Genesis
37:28 ...and sold Yosef to the Ishmaelites for twenty pieces of silver.
Matthew 26:15-16 and said, What are ye willing to give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they weighed
unto him thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to deliver him unto them.
Genesis
39:20 And Yosef's master took him, and put him into the prison, the place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was
there in the prison. Note: Though innocent he was accused falsely being treated as a criminal.
Mark 15:28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the trangressors.
Genesis
41:39 ....you will be over my house....
Hebrews
10:21 And having an high priest [Yahshua] over the house of G-d;
Genesis
41:40 only in the throne will I be greater than you
Special Note: For anyone that has been truly studying the story of Yosef, hopefully they
would have paid special attention to the relationship between Yosef and Pharoah. In
the passages dealing with this relationship we see that Pharoah had given Yosef to function in every aspect as Pharoah himself
over all his land. Yosef was practically Pharoah and could go about the land
being a great reflection of Pharoahs will and as a representative/agent of Pharoah who could speak in the name of Pharoah.
However, in all this that Yosef was not Pharoah, was not co-equal with Pharoah.
In the sum total of things Pharoah was Pharoah alone, Pharoah still outranked Yosef though functionally Yosef could
do all Pharoah could. So indeed functionally Yosef was co-equal with Pharoah
but only as it was given him by Pharoah. Pharoahs will was still to be done over
Yosefs will. Pharoahs power was his own to give or take away.
This is the same relationship Yahshua shares with YHWH. Yes functionally
Meshiach was given the ability to function as Elohim over all Elohims possesion (all creation). Yes, Meshiach represented Elohim perfectly and reflected his will.
However, in all that Yahshua was not Elohim, was not co-equal with Elohim. Elohims
will was to be done and Elohim gave Yahshua the ability to do what he did as Yahshua himself stated (inject scripture). Yahshuas will at the one point struggled with Elohims will. In the end Yahshua still submits to Elohim, not due to some dual nature but because he was a man given
the special position of Meshiach
Theres far too much
that shows Meshiach being second to Elohim throughout scripture that unfortunately is ignored or blown off for the idea of
a mystery. It has been implanted in peoples mind so much that only G-d could
keep His own law/commandments and be perfect. Somehow the same Elohim that Christians
believe to be omnipotent is limited in his ability to inable someone to live his law through His spirit. Another mistaken idea is the unwritten notion that only Elohim could die for our sins. A man was able to cause sin and the curse of sin to enter into the world but only Elohim could reverse
that? Can he not have another man reverse the situation that a man caused to
begin with? How is it that people suggest that the Elohim of the universe had
to die at the hands of His own creation? Is such a thing possible, how can an
inherit living being (from which life originates) cease to live? What happened
to that dual nature, did one die and not the other? Did both die? Ill cease here with this particular subject to return to the subject at hand.
Genesis 39:42....and he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried
before him, Bow the knee: and he set him over all the land of Mitsrayim.
Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore also Elohim highly exalted him, and gave unto
him the name which is above every name;
that in the name of Yahshua every
knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess
that Yahshua Meshiach is Master, to the glory of Elohim the Father.
Genesis 39:45 And Pharaoh called Yosef's name Zaphenath-paneah; and he gave him to wife
Asenath, the daughter of Poti-phera priest of On. And Yosef went out over the land of Mitsrayim.
Revelation 19:12 ....and he hath a name written which no one knoweth but he
himself. Meshiach has the assembly as his wife given by Elohim.
Genesis 39:46 And Yosef was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Mitsrayim
Luke 3:23 And Yahshua himself, when he began to teach, was about thirty years
of age.
Genesis 39:50 And when all the land of Mitsrayim was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh
for bread: and Pharaoh said to all the Mitsrayimians, Go to Yosef; what he says to you, do.
Note: Yosef saved the people by providing bread for them, eventually the people sold themselves to Pharoah.
John 6:35 Yahshua said to them. I am the bread of life: he that comes to me
will not hunger,.... Note: Yahshua saves us by the bread of life, we give ourselves
to the Father as we are fed by Yahshua.
Just as with many things in scriptures the
parallel between Yosef and Yahshua are obvious. The main parallel of the above
is the position Yosef held as a Master/Saviour to Egypt being second to Pharoah and Yahshua being Master/Saviour to the world
and his relation to Elohim. Yosef was administrativily/functionalty equal to
Pharoah as was given him but he was not Pharoah nor Pharoahs equal. Yahshua is
administativily/functionaly equal to Elohim (God) but he is not Elohim or equal to Him.
If one notices throughout scriptures (more so the
Tanach [Old Testament]) there were many Saviors used by Elohim to perform many great and mighty things to deliver Yisrael
physically and spiritually. Elohim moved through these people mightily, however
Yahshua was the Great Savior used to a degree like none other. The former Saviors
pointed to the Ultimate Savior to come. The character of Yosef like others also
pointed to what Meshiach would be. Hopefully this has help to show how Meshiach
was to be great, unique, and poweful but not Elohim himself come into flesh.
