Names In Scriptures

This article's purpose is to one, show the original names of Hebrew characters in the Scripture. Two, show how in the original spelling these names have specific meanings tied into what's in their name. Three, to show how they vastly differ from the modern spelling. Four, to get you hopefully thinking about this question, why the change in the name?

I must address this here and now. I am not one who looks at any brother or sister any less for using the modern transliteration of the names. Please, I would not dare question the salvation or itegrity of someone for deciding to use that which they are familiar with today. My purpose here is to only point out the vast difference in the spelling of the names.

These names have specific meanings to them in the way that they are spelled. If you notice most have "El" (Almighty One, G-d) in them or they have "Yah" which is the shortened form of "Yahweh" (YHWH) the name of the Father. These are only some of the more popular people in the Scriptures.
